Caption: Viscometer. Falling-sphere viscometer, where the speed at which a sphere (lower centre) falls through a liquid is used to calculate the viscosity of oil or other liquids. This device relies on the sphere reaching terminal velocity while falling through the fluid. The viscosity calculation uses a fluid dynamics equation called Stokes' law.
