Caption: Friction measurement experiment. Spring balance being used to measure the frictional force generated as
a trainer is dragged over a wooden floor. The spring balance is being used to generate the force required to make the trainer move. This force is measured in newtons (N), with the current reading being 2.2N. The measurement at the point the trainer slips can be combined with the weight of the trainer to calculate the static co-efficient of friction between the wooden floor and the rubber sole of the trainer.
