Caption: Samuel Rea (1855-1929), American engineer. Rea was responsible for the construction of the New York Tunnel Extension among other railroad engineering projects. In 1912 he became the 9th president of the Pennsylvania Railroad (1913-1925). He was awarded the Franklin Medal in 1926. Photographed circa 1905.
