Caption: Maidstone Slab fossil. Slab of rock containing a jumble of Iguanodon dinosaur bones. This slab was found in Maidstone, Kent, UK, in 1834. It allowed the palaeontologist Gideon Mantell (1790-1852) to create the first skeletal reconstruction of the dinosaur, a large herbivore. The slab dates to around 140 to 110 million years.
