Caption: Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO) dome, Tucson, Arizona, USA. With 23 telescopes, KPNO is the largest collection of astronomical instruments in the world. This dome houses the WIYN 0.9-metre telescope. The original 0.9-metre telescopes were the first telescopes installed at Kitt Peak in the 1960s. Only one now remains, housed in this dome that was refurbished and modernised in the 1990s.
