Caption: Coccoderma coelacanth fish fossil. This specimen of the coelacanth Coccoderma suevicum has been prepared by acid transfer from the original fossil. The base material is glass fibre, not the original rock. The original specimen was found in the Lithographic Limestone formation of Bavaria, Germany, and dates from 150 million years ago. The specimen is 32 centimetres long.
