Caption: Covellite. This mineral, also called covelline, is a sulphide of copper with a characteristic iridescent, indigo-blue colour. It occurs rarely in it's pure state and is more important as a collector's mineral than as an ore of copper. This specimen was found in Butte City, USA, and measures 80 mm wide.
