Linarite is a rare mineral composed of a combined sulphate and hydroxide of copper and lead that is formed by oxidation of other copper and lead minerals like chalcopyrite and galenite. It is monoclinic and occurs as aggregates or tubular crystals with a deep blue colour. This sample is from Caldbeck, Cumberland, UK, and measures 40 mm across.
