Caption: Cosmonaut weightlessness training. Soviet cosmonaut Aleksei Arkhipovich Leonov (born 1934) experiencing weightlessness during free-fall on an aircraft flight. This free-fall flight involves flying the aircraft in a parabolic trajectory to simulate the free fall conditions found in Earth orbit. Leonov flew on the Voskhod 2 space mission, with Pavel Ivanovich Belyayev, from 18-19th March 1965. During this flight, Leonov became the first person to make a space walk. Photographed in 1973.
