Caption: Aleksei Leonov (born 1934). Soviet cosmonaut Aleksei Arkhipovich Leonov climbing aboard a ship after the successful water landing of the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. Leonov trained as a pilot and later flew on the Voskhod 2 space mission from 18-19th March 1965. During this flight, Leonov became the first person to make a space walk. The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, Soyuz-19, was the first joint US-Soviet space flight. Photographed in 1975.
