Caption: Welwitschia plant (Welwitschia mirabilis). This plant is endemic to the Namib desert. It is very long-lived, with the oldest plant believed to be 2,500 years old. It has only two leaves which become frayed and torn in the desert winds. It survives by absorbing moisture from cool air. Filmed in the Namib Desert, Namibia.
