Caption: With Mount Etna seen in the distance a teen tour group listens to a lecture. The ancient amphitheatre at Taormina is the second largest of its kind on the Italian island of Sicily. Carved out of the rocky slope of Mount Tauro by the Greeks, the Romans remodelled and modified it greatly. What remains today dates from the 2nd century A.D.
