Caption: Cliffside graves; Torajaland, Sulawesi, Indonesia. The Toraja are an ethnic group indigenous to a mountainous region of South Sulawesi. They are renowned for their elaborate funeral rites, including burial sites carved into rocky cliffs. Effigies of the deceased, carved of wood, can be seen 'looking out' over the land. Sometimes coffins are hung on the cliff face.
