Archaeology. View of scientists excavating evidence of a settlement at the Diring Yuryakh site in Yakutia, northern Russia. The site has been dated to more than 300,000 years BP, in the lower palaeolithic era. Evidence has been found of human settlement, including tools and remains. Photographed during the Prilyenskaya expedition in 1988.
