Caption: Archaeology. A stone monument depicting a human figure dating from the 11th century. The monument was probably made by the Polovets people, descendants of Turkic tribes that invaded the region north of the Black Sea. This monument was unearthed near the site of the ancient city of Tanais, near Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
