Caption: Air defence. An SA-300F surface-to-air missile being launched from the Russian Cruiser Varyag. The radar-guided SA-300F is used for long range defence, engaging targets at ranges of 7-90 km and altitudes of 25-25,000 metres. It is known by its NATO designation SA-N-6 'Growler'. The Varyag is a Slava class guided missile cruiser, armed with a variety of anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles, guns and torpedoes.
