White sagebrush, Artemisia ludoviciana. This highly aromatic plant is widespread throughout virtually all of the United States and adjoining Canada and Mexico. Another name for this plant is mugwort wormwood. Native Americans used it medicinally as an astringent, and to treat skin rashes, headaches and menstrual disorders.
