Caption: The tree-like pricklypear Opuntia (Consolea) rubescens, is sometimes known as the roadkill cactus. Here it is growing along the southwestern Coast of Puerto Rico. This tree-like prickly pear is found in Puerto Rico, Mona, the Virgin Islands and Guadeloupe. It can grow to heights of 20 feet. The tall branching cactus in background are dildo cactus, Cephalocereus royeni.
