Caption: Human hand skeleton, resin cast. This cast of the hand bones from a human skeleton, is being produced using the technique of stereolithography (SLA). The cast is rising out a resin bath, with the resin being hardened by exposure to ultraviolet light generated by a laser. The data for this manufacturing process was obtained from a 3D scan of the skeleton. This cast is being produced by the Initial company, based in Annecy, France. Photographed in 2010.
