Caption: Ocean and vegetation changes. Simulated animation showing changes in sea (blue) level, ice (white) cover and vegetation (green) cover from 21,000 years ago to 8000 years in the future. Dark blue areas are the deepest and pale blue areas are the shallowest. The animation starts at the last glacial maximum, when ice cover was at its greatest extent. The changes from 2000AD to 3000AD are based on carbon dioxide emissions falling to zero from 2100. Changes from 3,000AD to 10,000AD are based on the assumption of total glacier meltdown.
