Caption: Conservation of mass experiment. Image 2 of 2. Digital scales showing the mass of two conical flasks and their contents after mixing. One flask contained silver nitrate solution, the other contained sodium chloride solution (see A500/703). When the two were mixed, a white precipitate of silver chloride formed, but the mass shown by the balance was unchanged. This demonstrates that no mass has been lost in the reaction.
