Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov (born 1934, front) and US astronaut Thomas Stafford (born 1930) answering questions at the first ever press conference in space, during the Apollo-Soyuz Test project (ASTP). Leonov was commander of the Soviet Soyuz-19 mission, whilst Stafford was commander of the US Apollo 18 mission. The two spacecraft were launched as part of the ASTP, a joint project between the USA and the USSR, and successfully docked with each other in orbit on 17th July 1975.
