Caption: Aleksei Leonov. Soviet cosmonaut Aleksei Leonov (b. 1934) talking at the Space pavilion of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre (formerly VDNKh exhibition centre), Moscow, Russia. Aleksei Arkhipovich Leonov flew on the Voskhod 2 mission with Pavel Ivanovich Belyayev, from 18-19th March 1965. During this flight, Leonov became the first person to make a space walk. Belyayev never flew into space again, but Leonov was part of the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz Test project where Russian and American spacecraft docked in orbit. Leonov later became Air Force Major General (as seen here). Photographed in 1964.
