Caption: Cosmonauts Belyayev and Leonov. Soviet cosmonauts Aleksei Arkhipovich Leonov (b.1934, left) and Pavel Ivanovich Belyayev (1925--1970, right) after their spaceflight. Belyayev and Leonov flew together on the Voskhod 2 mission of 18-19th March 1965. It was during this flight that Leonov left the Voskhod capsule to become the first man to walk in space. Belyayev never flew into space again, but Leonov was part of the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz Test project where Russian and American spacecraft docked in orbit. He later became Air Force Major General.
