The Atlantic Ocean (blue left) can be seen along with the tip of Spain (upper centre), across the Strait of Gibraltar (blue, upper centre), and the Mediterranean Sea (blue, upper right). Two of the Canary Islands (lower left) can be seen off the coast; these are Fuerteventura (bottom) and Lanzarote (top). Image compiled from data acquired by the LANDSAT 5 and 7 satellites, in 2000.
