Pakistan (bottom right) can also be seen, separated from Tajikistan by the narrow Wakhan Corridor. Karakul, or Qaraqul, lake (black, centre right) can also be seen in the Pamir Mountains. Image compiled from data acquired by the LANDSAT 5 and 7 satellites, in 2000.
