Caption: Shoulder muscles. Computer artwork of a posterior view of two of the muscles (red) of the shoulders and their attachment to the bones of the back and upper arms. These are the teres minor and teres major muscles. The teres minor muscle is shown on both sides here. The teres major muscle is shown in semi-transparent mode at right. Both muscles run from the scapula (shoulder blade) to the humerus (upper arm bone), and surround the armpit (axillary) space. The teres minor muscle is part of the shoulder's rotator cuff, while the teres major muscle isn't. Also shown here are the bones of the ribcage and spine.
