Caption: Sumatran rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis). Female Sumatran rhinoceros wallowing in mud. This rhino, named Puntung, is a 10 year old female brought in to the Tabin Wildlife Reserve for breeding purposes. Sumatran rhinos are critically endangered. It is thought that less than 40 individuals live in the wild in Borneo. The Rhino Breeding Centre at the Tabin Wildlife Reserve cares for and breeds Sumatran rhinos with a view to species conservation.
