Caption: Reconstructed Viking longhouse with a defensive wall. This reconstruction is based on one of the 31 longhouses in the Trelleborg ring castle complex. This unique structure comprised 16 longhouses in four groups of four within a fortified circle, and 15 longhouses outside the circle, pointing at its centre. The complex was built around 980 AD. Filmed in Trelleborg, Zealand, Denmark.
