TB is an infection by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It usually infects the lungs and can cause severe scarring. Infections can be diagnosed and treated at dedicated clinics. If a TB infection is not completely eradicated, then drug-resistant forms can develop. It is usually treated by a course of antibiotic drugs, often several taken in combination.
