Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Research into the development of nano-scaled drug delivery systems. A researcher at the Welsh School of Pharmacy at Cardiff University uses fluorescence microscopy to study endocytic pathways in liver cancer cells. The display monitor of the microscope shows the cell nuclei as blue/green patches with the red structures of endosomes which it is hoped will play a part in enabling therapeutic macromolecules to accurately target diseased cells using nano-scale delivery technology.
