Caption: Fomalhaut dust ring, combined HST and ALMA image. The Fomalhaut star system and its planet and dust ring are around 25 light years from Earth in the constellation of Piscis Austrinus. The blue part of the image is the observations made using the Hubble Space Telescope in 2004 and 2006. The new observations by ALMA (the Atacama Large Millimeter-submillimeter Array) are shown in orange. These observations were published in 2012. ALMA has so far only observed a part of the ring. This system includes a planet, named Fomalhaut b, and also an extensive ring of dust, seen here.
