Caption: Telescope eyepiece. This is the focus of a refracting telescope. At centre is where an eyepiece or photographic equipment would be placed. Across top are two eyepieces for smaller finder telescopes, used to guide and point the main telescope. Photographed at the Hem Observatory, France. Built in the period 1907 to 1909, this observatory was operated by French astronomer Robert Jonckheere (1888-1974).
