Caption: Jean-Claude Laprie (1944-2010). Portrait of the French computer scientist and systems engineer Jean-Claude Laprie. Laprie is best known for his work in defining and unifying the field of dependable and secure computing. From 1997 to 2002 he was research director of the LAAS (Laboratory for analysis and architecture of systems) at the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique), and in 2009 he won the Grand Prize for Computer Science from the French Academy of Sciences.
