Caption: Amphitheatre. Remains of a Roman amphitheatre at the city of Bosra in southern Syria. It was built in the second century, probably under Trajan, and is the only surviving example in which the portico is covered by an upper gallery (above the pillars). The excavated ruins constitute a UN World Heritage Site.
