Caption: Stomach polyps. Endoscopic view of glandulocystic polyps in the fundus (left portion) of a patient's stomach. Polyps are benign (non-cancerous) growths that arise from mucous membranes. Fundic glandulocystic polyps are tiny multiple sessile (non-stalked) polyps of the acid-secreting gastric (stomach) mucosa. Although benign, polyps are generally removed surgically as their growth may obstruct the passage of food, and some polyps may turn cancerous over time.
