Caption: Ares I-X test rocket launch. View of NASA's Ares I-X test rocket being launched from Launch Complex 39B of the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA, on 28th October 2009. This was the first launch from Kennedy's launchpads of a vehicle other than the space shuttle since the Apollo Program's Saturn rockets were retired. The data returned from the more than 700 sensors throughout this rocket will be used to refine the design of future launch vehicles.
