Caption: Real-time movement mapping system. Woman having her movements mapped in real time by a computer system. Passive sensors (silver balls) on her body reflect light to a set of infrared cameras that use the information to quantify and analyse her movements. This is then used to create a 3D computer model of the person that copies the movements in real time. This is the type of system used to create ultra-realistic computer generated characters for many modern feature films, such as the character Gollum in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
