Caption: Bone marrow blood cells, light micrograph. Bone marrow is one of the site where blood stem cells develop into mature red blood cells and white blood cells. Cells seen here include red blood cells (grey, no nuclei) and white blood cells (nuclei stained purple), some with multi-lobed nuclei. The stain used here is the May-Grunwald-Giemsa (MGG) stain. Magnification: x1000 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
