Caption: Genetic research. Conceptual artwork of molecular models of strands of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) with a syringe. DNA contains the genetic code that varies between different organisms, producing the different structures and chemistry. It is found in the cell nuclei, and comprises two sugar phosphate strands in a twisting helical shape. These strands have nucleotide bases (horizontal struts) that bond to each other and join the two strands together. It is the sequence of these nucleotide bases that forms the genetic code. Forms of genetic research includes genetic engineering and modification of food, animals and humans.
