Caption: Intercosmos-11 satellite being prepared for launch. The Soviet Intercosmos-11 was launched on 17 May 1974 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. It performed a variety of solar physics and Earth science investigations, notably about the connection between the solar wind and Earth's magnetic field. It burnt up on re-entry on 6 September 1979.
