Caption: Vega missions. Scientists working on the Vega missions meeting in Moscow in September 1986. The Vega programme consisted of two spacecraft that visited Venus then Comet Halley. Data from the Vega spacecraft were used to fine-tune the approach trajectory of the European Giotto spacecraft to pass very close to the comet.
