Caption: Intercosmos 4. View of the Intercosmos 4 satellite during integration with its booster. Intercosmos 4 was a joint mission by the Soviet Union, East germany and Czechoslovakia. It carried a variety of X-ray and ultraviolet astronomy instruments. It was launched on 14 October 1970 from Kapustin Yar and was destroyed when it re-entered the atmosphere on 17 January 1971.
