Caption: The Stoker. Satirical artwork denouncing the influence on the banker and financier J. P. Morgan (depicted at left) on the US economy. Morgan is seen oiling a machine named 'Wall Street' from a can labelled 'legislation'. At right an 'American citizen' is shovelling savings into the furnace, while being kicked by Morgan's machine. Illustration by Albert Levering, pubslished in Puck on 1st February 1911.
