Caption: Glacial moulin. Researchers on frozen ice inside a moulin (glacier mill). Erosion features such as rills and moulins are formed on glaciers by flowing water. A moulin is a shaft into which surface and meltwater can flow from a series of rills. A moulin can extend down to the base of the glacier, though this ice cave is 10 metres below the glacier surface. Photographed in Greenland.
