Common darter dragonfly. Female common darter (Sympetrum striolatum) at rest on bell heather (Erica cinerea) flowers. Common darters are native to Eurasia and are one of the most common dragonflies in Europe. Photographed on Studland Heath, Dorset, UK, in August.
