Caption: Semi-conservative replication, animation. This is the normal process of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) synthesis. In the first frame the two original strands of the DNA molecule separate. Each strand then acts as a template on which a new strand of DNA is formed. The final frame shows the two resulting DNA molecules which both contain one strand of the original DNA molecule.
