Caption: Great Belt Bridge, Denmark. The suspension bridge in the distance (the East Bridge), is part of the transport link the Great Belt Fixed Link. This connects the Danish islands of Zealand and Funen. The East Bridge connects Zealand and the island of Sprogo (distance of 6790 metres). This view looks west from Zealand towards Sprogo, with the Sun low in the sky over the pylons of the East Bridge. The road deck's supporting pillars (12 between Zealand and the East Bridge) are 193 metres apart. The clearance below the suspension part of the bridge is 65 metres, while the pylons rise to 254 metres above sea level. The Great Belt Bridge was built between 1991 and 1998.
