Caption: St Inglevert jousting tournament. 15th-century manuscript illustration of the jousting tournament that took place at St Inglevert, France in 1390. This royal tournament became famous, with three French knights defending the lists for thirty days against all comers from around Europe. The text is in French. This illustration is from volume IV of 'Froissart's Chronicles', produced in Bruges in the period 1470-1475. The illustrations are attributed to an unknown artist, the Master of the Harley Froissart.
