Caption: Northern fence lizard, Scleroporus undulatus hyacinthinus, female. Males develop a blue coloration on their lower sides. Often seen perched on fences, rocks and tree stumps. Common over a large portion of eastern US from southeastern NY to KS and eastern half of TX. In the southeastern US can be found the subspecies S. u. undulatus.
